Financial Distress

"They disconnected our cable service again! Did I really miss a payment last month?"

"Can I borrow ten dollars? My gas tank is empty and I don't get paid until Friday."

"Is it the first of the month already? I thought I had another couple weeks until the mortgage payment was due!"

Perhaps you have made these or similar comments. Living payday to payday is not uncommon for many people today. Besides the "normal" living expenses, such as a mortgage or rent payment, utilities, food, gas, etc., we all get hit with those unexpected or unplanned-for expenses like a doctor visit or car repair. As frustrating as it is trying to make ends meet, we carry on, month after month, pushing ourselves, looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. But the light is there! That beautiful, radiant light is Jesus Christ!

Philippians 4:19 says "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Our Father knows what we need and He is only a prayer away. When we ask for His help, He gives unselfishly. He will shower his grace and wisdom upon us in our times of financial distress.God will always provide an answer, and if we are paying close attention, a valuable lesson that will help us in other troublesome situations.

We must humble ourselves to the Lord and admit our weaknesses. He knows we're not perfect and doesn't expect us to be.

We will all go through trying times; financially, physically,
emotionally. But we can rest in God's love, knowing that he will never leave us to go through them alone.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
