Where security lays

ByHanna Shiferaw

Here is a story of a courageous, beautiful young lady who was able to make a big difference.

We treasure security, even though we know that security in this life carries no guarantees; possessions can be destroyed, beauty fades, relationships can be broken, death is inevitable.\1\

SecurityThis young lady, however, was able to think and see beyond these borders.

Her people were captives in another country and going to be destroyed by a decree directly signed by the king himself. She was a queen, but, nobody knows she belongs to these people. She didn`t tell her nationality and family background to anyone before.

Besides, there is something else that makes the task more complicated and needs to risk her life. Even though she was a queen, she can’t see the king, for any reason, without his request. If she approaches him without his invitation, she will die unless and otherwise he is willing to let her live. And bad news, he didn`t invite her to come to him for more than a month.

This is what she did. First she believed in something important:

Real security will be found beyond this life. Only when our security rests on God and his unchanging nature can we face the challenges that life is sure to bring our way.\2\

She took three days, day and night, to fast and pray with her people. Finally she decided:
" ...... though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I am willing to die. " Esther 4: 16

She was right. She did what she said. The God she trusted didn`t let her die. Otherwise, she saved her people.

How much of your security lies in your possessions, position, or reputation? Are you willing to let God be your ultimate security? \3\

If you let him so, sure you got the real security.

The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done. 1 Corinthians 1:31
