Guard your Life

Protection is one of our deep human needs. Because there are many things that can cause damage at any time, everything we are, and anything we have needs to be protected. Thus as a human being we protect all of us and all which belongs to us paying any price we are asked.

As protection is quite an issue in our life, there is one thing in which we have to guard our life from. It is a fire which burns our way of life. If it is not taken with enough care and attention, it can cause serious damage to our life. And, the damage is not easily curable.

Here is the thing. How do you take the suggestions and criticisms, people give you concerning your ways of life, talents, work, marital problems, and anything you do?

The Bible says: The tongue is a fire. ….. It sets a person’s whole way of life on fire. James 3:6

Fire needs handling. If you use it appropriately, it can give you tremendous advantages. And, if you misuse it, it can destroy what you own. The tongue operates the same way.

When you listen to what people talk about you or the suggestions and criticisms they give concerning your different parts of life, you have to take care. Their idea can build or destroy you. Some people can say something because they think it is the right thing for you to do. Others may love to give suggestions on any matter they see. Some others may do it deliberately to harm you.

Therefore, filter any suggestions or criticisms you hear about yourself. Watch out for what enters your life through your ears. Guard them properly. You can’t stop people from giving suggestions.. But, you can control what enters in to you. Stand straight. Have your own beliefs and standards. Develop confidence. That is how life works out.
