Whose idea is it?

ByHanna Shiferaw

“What?”  You asked me fast.

“Good question.” I answered. Then I continued;

The thing that many people try to arrange and run it by themselves as if it was their idea and as if they can do it perfectly, but unfortunately they fail to do it.

“What is it?” You asked me again with a stronger and harder tone.

Ok fine. Don’t be angry.  I’ll tell.

Ehhhhh……..Marriage!

“What?” You said again. “What is that mean?”  Thanks God you are not angry now ….at least!

Here is my point. If you buy a television, what is the first thing you do in order to set and use it? You read the manual and set up your TV. What if you don’t follow the instruction in the manual and try by yourself to set it up. The probability is very high that you could do mistakes. The mistakes you do could make you not enjoy your TV as it is intended or even worse; you can fail and lose it.

That was just a simple example in order to show how many people try to arrange and run their marriages. And, the results are not happy. If those people are smart enough, there is one option left. Look for the manual and adjust their marriages.

Let me ask you again. “Whose idea is it?” I mean… Marriage.

It is purely God’s idea. God made marriage. I have to say it again. Sorry though! God made marriage. So, why are you trying to arrange and run your marriage by yourself even though it is absolutely not your idea?

God made marriage to satisfy our deepest need for companionship. And when he made it, he made it perfect. He didn’t intended to cause troubles on people that we see in our world today. So, why all those disasters then? That is because we don’t listen to him. We don’t ask him for guidance? We try to fix it by ourselves.

Do you want your marriage to be perfect as it is intended from the beginning? Ask for God’s guidance in every decision you make concerning it and of course be willing to follow what he suggests. Just ask him any, any question. He always is more than willing to answer and clear your doubts. Thus, you will enjoy your marriage at its best.
