Your attitude towards your marriage

Attitude always matters. How you see things has more influence (positive or negative) on your life than the way things are by themselves. If you see seemingly impossible tasks as possible, then they will be possible for you. The creativities and technologies we see and use today are the results of the attitudes of people who see the impossible as possible.

As your marriage is one part of your life, your attitude towards it matters for the good or bad of it. How do you feel about your marriage? How do you think your marriage is going on? People evaluate their marriages according to pre stated societal, cultural, religious or something related standards. However, marriage is a personal matter. Therefore, the standards you have to judge your marriage should be your own standards.

There is an old saying in my country, Ethiopia, which goes like this. No one can live as his neighbor lives. Every one lives his own ways. What is the definition of a good spouse for you? This definition differs from person to person. Someone’s criteria for good spouse may not fit for the other one. Everyone has its own criteria.

However, some people try to ruin their marriages seeing it in the eyes of others; may be their neighbors, friends or colleagues. Your marriage is your personal matter. It doesn’t matter whether people think your marriage is heaven or hell. What matters is what you feel about it; your attitude towards it. You only decide whether it is hell or heaven.

People may suggest anything about your marriage life. But, be careful which one should you take inside and apply. You must be smart enough on how to handle these kinds of circumstances. Otherwise the consequences may not be interesting.
