A different Life

A sociologist friend of mine told me some story of women in countryside, with huge need of clean and healthy water around. They go very long distances in the afternoons, when the sun sets, to a river carrying big water jars. Considering this huge problem of the society, an organization made them a pipe water in their nearby.

But almost none used the pipe water and everybody still goes to the far away river. The organization made a research to find out why is it so? The reason was that the women missed something they value much. When they go far away, they go in groups so that they talk, chat, date their lovers ….. have fun. They couldn’t find these with the nearby pipe water.

The Bible tells us some story of a lonely woman, who couldn’t able to join and enjoy this kind of group of women. Marrying and getting divorced five times before, this woman was ashamed of her society. Carrying her jar, she came to draw water, just at noon, when the sun is overhead, so nobody can see her.

But somebody met her one day. That day was the day her life was changed totally. This man touched the hidden part of her life and answered the questions she had in mind. He gave her water that takes away thirst altogether. He changed her attitude she had towards herself.

She run back to her society that she used to afraid of. She called them out “Come and meet a man who told me everything I ever did!”John 4: 29 She was ashamed of what she ever did. But when this man comes to her life, she was no more ashamed of anything. He gave her the right and proper perspective towards herself. He satisfies her thirst of people. He took loneliness away from her life.

Have the right and proper perspective towards yourself. Have this man in your life. Because he is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14:6 His name is Jesus Christ.

He is indeed the Savior of the world. John 4:42
